Cabano, Quebec...never heard of this little town before but we are enjoying our day off here. A campsite by the lake, pub down the road and live bands playing in the park on Wed nights...how much better can it get?
We've been cycling with the wind for the past few days and this riding thing is getting very easy, from Quebec to Riviere du loup was a quick 2 hour ride...then we turned South and got slapped back into reality. La Route Vert had us cycling along the Saint Laurence river looking across at old Quebec, a very busy path but cycling friendly and very scenic! Once in Riviere du loup la route vert turned into gravel so we quickly re routed onto the trans Canada (hwy 185)...we've been spoiled on the roads of Quebec and getting back onto the highway took us back to the prairie days and northern Ontario.
The days are running out on our trip, we are actually on the east coast! the next 2 weeks will be exciting, lots of provinces still to cycle through and tonnes to see!

They might say this about your cycling … Goin'? She wudden't goin' now I know – [Moving at great speed.]
Even though you aren’t a Townie ["a person from St. John's"] but are a Bayman [ "anyone not from St. John's" ] you definitely all aren’t Chuckleheads [ "a stupid person"] and hopefully won’t cycle on a Drung ["a narrow, rocky lane" ].
Some Prog - "food" you may want to try (or avoid!!) … Switchel ["cold tea"]; Touton ["fried bread dough"]. Also watch out for the Duff ["pudding of flour, fat pork and molasses"] . But you may want to try a Gandy ["a pancake" ] or Mush [ "porridge"] While cycling watch out for a Jinker [ "one who brings bad luck"]
These 2 phrases may be useful ….
Any mummers loud in? - (Mummers are people dressed up who visit around Christmas...this is the question they usually ask after someone answers the door.)
Where you 'longs to? - (Where are you from?)
Sounds like you guys are having a blast... I'm sad that your trip is coming to an end but I'm super excited you will be closer to me very soon. Cant wait to see you guys!!!
